Dennis put lights up on the house, so I thought I would take a picture. The boys, of course, are thrilled with the lights and love to go outside to look at them. We started with a "red and green" light theme, but had to alter plans when the strands of lights we got on sale began shattering left and right.* So now we have a "red and green and rainbow" theme. We're very eclectic.
We also only decorated half of the house (which is why there is only half a house in this photo). I'm sure the neighbors are a bit confused as to why we only managed to get half the house done, but the eaves on the other half of the house are ridiculously high. Calculating the cost of a probable emergency room visit from slipping on the icy roof, we decided to forgo the higher elevations of the house. Our neighbor is very ambitious and did his entire second story. I'm trying to figure out a way to con him into doing our house next year.
We're about done with our outdoor decorating. Lake effect snows are predicted for tonight, which will complete the scene.
*Caveat Emptor. Remember- you get what you pay for!
