Nolan's Sixth Birthday: August 27, 2013

On Nolan's sixth birthday, his Grandma and Grandpa L rented a speedboat on Lake Chautauqua. Nolan was so excited to ride in the boat!

We drove the boat up to Mayville, then turned around and went to the Casino for lunch. There is nothing better than a summertime lunch on the lake.

The boys took turns driving the boat. Matthew really loved it and was a very good driver!

After riding around for a while, we attached the tube and took turns tubing on the lake.

The kids were so cute and excited to go for a ride. They had never done anything like this before. Would they like it?

The answer was a definitive "YES." Matthew always rode with one hand in the air, proclaiming his glee.

Nolan always wanted to go faster, and was disappointed when his turn came to an end. He was so small, sometimes you could only see the top of his hair from inside the tube!

Grandpa took a turn and zipped over the wake.

Dennis took a turn, too. He really enjoyed it.

As it turns out, I think I prefer pontoon boats to speed boats. I was game to go for a ride on the tube, though, despite my reservations. At first it was fun! Whee!

Then it was scary. Terrifying, really. Speed is not my thing.

After spending a wonderful day on the lake, we went home and sang Happy Birthday to Nolan. Then we had a delicious ice cream cake.

Nolan opened his birthday presents and was all smiles.

He had an excellent sixth birthday. I am not sure how my "baby" turned six so quickly!
