We took quite a long walk around the harbor and enjoyed seeing all of the boats. Matt was impressed by the fishing boats, and Nolan was quite insistant on walking close to the edge of the embankment. There is a Channel Islands National Park museum at the end of the harbor, so we stopped there to look at the exhibits and tidepool. The tidepool isn't a touch tank, but the ranger gave Matt a flashlight and the boy was ecstatic as he found fish in the "cave" on the side of the tank.

Being so close to the beach, we crossed the street to let Nolan experience sand for the first time. Matt was quite happy to play in the sand, too, and we had a hard time dragging them back to the car so we could get a nap in before the big party!
